With a view to improving the capacity of self-efficiency and to introduce good governance principles, TISL conducted a training workshop for staff members of the Ambalangoda Pradesheeya Sabha (PS) recently.
At the workshop held in the auditorium of the PS in Batapola Galle, the staff members were trained to improve the auditing and budgetary processes, include the public in preparing the budget and planning development activities. Further, processes were developed to improve the management of garbage in the area and road construction. The staff worked on an action plan to improve people’s participation in PS activities and presented it by the time the workshop ended.
Former Secretary to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, Piyatissa Ranasinghe and TISL Manager – local government activities, Anada Jayasekara conducted the sessions. Ambalagoda PS chairman, Pushpalal Kumarasinghe and secretary , Anura Munasinghe and over 45 staff members took part in the workshop.
