Having recognized the overwhelming need for legislative protection of whistleblowers in Sri Lanka, TISL has the intention of preparing a proposal for a Protection of Whistleblowers Statute to be submitted to the Government, the private sector as well as civil society.As an initial step, we have conducted a study over the past two months and based on this study a Concept Paper on Whistle Blowing and the Need for Protective Legislation has been prepared.
In the preparation TISL has sought the assistance and co-operation from various National Chapters of Transparency International across the Globe and have gathered some valuable information.
Having completed this initial step, we are looking forward to meeting stakeholders to make our aim of lobbying prtowards a Statute for the otection of Whistle blowers a reality.
