Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) filed a petition with the Supreme Court on Thursday, 24 September 2020, challenging provisions of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution Bill. In this petition TISL highlighted 4 key areas which would compromise accountability mechanisms. These include the Right to Information (RTI), corruption investigations, the oversight of public finance and the conduct of free and fair elections.
