TISL commends Minister of Public Administration

wdjTISL commends the decision taken by Hon W.D.J.Senevirathna Minister of Public Administration & Home Affairs to appoint investigative units in every Divisional Secretariat.

In a letter to the Minister TISL also commended his efforts to eradicate bribery and corruption and promote good governance in the Public Service. TISL is confident that this will further enhance the work done in Divisional Secretariats and strengthen the integrity in the public service.

TISL has conducted programs working in close partnership with the Ministry of Public Administration and several public institutions in promoting integrity and good governance .TISL has assured that it is prepared to extend its fullest support and cooperation in this regard.

Following is the full text of the letter;

Honorable Minister,

We were greatly inspired by your recent remarks on the need to eradicate bribery and corruption in the public service and make it more people-friendly. It certainly is a welcome sign towards good governance.

As a pioneer organization in combating corruption and promoting good governance, we welcome your decision to appoint investigative units in every Divisional Secretariat. We are confident that it will further enhance the work done in Divisional Secretariats and strengthen the integrity in the public service.

At Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL), we have been working in close partnership with your Ministry and several public sector institutions in promoting integrity and good governance. Effective programmes have been conducted in several Divisional Secretariat divisions towards this end.

While welcoming the steps taken by you we wish to assure you that we are prepared to extend our fullest support and cooperation in this regard.

We will be glad to meet you and discuss further if a convenient date and time can be indicated.
Herewith we enclose manual and tool kit for training of Public servants.
