Shelter for Integrity legal arm of Transparency International Sri Lanka conducted a one day workshop for Police officers in Vanni District on 31st January 2014. At the workshop policemen were trained on anti – corruption initiatives, their active role in combating corruption. The training was held in Thampa hotel Vauniyava with the coordination of Vanni districts Deputy Inspector General’s office.
Shelter for Integrity conducted the workshop on a request made by Jayantha Wicramasinghe Deputy Inspector General (DIG)of Vanni region. More than 50Police officers from the district attended the workshop. Laws pertaining to combating corruption, when and how they should they mediate were among the topics discussed at the workshop.
Work shop was conducted under the patronage of DIG Jayanta wicramasinghe and S. Ranugge Executive Director TISL. Training was conducted by former deputy director of CIABOC and attorney at law Jagath Liyanarachchi
