Resource book for Sri Lankan investigative journalists developed

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) in collaboration with Fedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) recently validated a resource book and a toolkit in investigative journalism aimed at strengthening professionalism in Sri Lankan investigative journalism, both at the national and regional level.

The contents of the two products, developed for the first time in Sri Lanka, were validated by industry specialists during a two- day exercise conducted on 23-24 April, 2011 at the Palm Village Hotel, Hendala.

The resource book and the toolkit were developed for TISL and FES by Mr. Ralph Frammolino, Pulitzer finalist, Consultant World Bank Institute Washington DC and international trainer and teacher in investigative journalism.

These products were developed in response to a strong industry demand expressed during the training programs conducted by TISL to have locally developed training products to specially enhance the capacity of regional journalists in investigative journalism.

The resource book and the toolkit will be the first ever products in investigative journalism to be developed in Sri Lanka and are specially designed to cater to the local industry requirements.
