NGO complains about CEB to Bribery Comm.

DailyMirror:

Two complaints were lodged at the Bribery Commission yesterday by the Sri Lanka Green Movement (SLGM) concerning financial malpractices that had allegedly taken place at the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

SLGM Natural Resources Project Manager Banduranga Kariyawasam speaking to Daily Mirror yesterday said that the financial misappropriation committed at the two main power projects amounted to over Rs. 375 million. “A loss of around Rs. 370 million was incurred at the Greater Colombo network with sub-station project while a financial discrepancy of Rs. 5.3 million had been recorded during the construction work on the Kerawalapitiya combined circular power plant,” Mr. Kariyawasam added.
