Nearly 150 complaints per day against SLTB

The transport Ministry receives nearly 150 complaints a day from the public against errant SLTB bus crews.

This was revealed by Deputy Transport Minister Rohana Dissanayaka, who assured that the Ministry would deal with all complaints and take appropriate disciplinary action against offenders.

Dissanayaka told The Island that a majority of complaints were against SLTB buses which do not operate on schedule. Other complaints were the failure to issue tickets, retaining balance money and being rude to commuters.

He added that the Ministry had instructed SLTB inspectors and police stations to conduct awareness programmes for such bus crews.
