A high level delegation will visit Brussels on May 20 and 21 for talks with the European Commission on renewing the GSP + trade facility for Sri Lanka, External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris told parliament yesterday.
The delegation comprising Foreign Secretary Romesh de Silva, Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundara, Justice Ministry Secretary Suhada Gamlath and Attorney General Mohan Peiris had also held talks with the EC in March as well.
Prof. Peiris said the March visit was fruitful and the officials had identified the matters that needed to be addressed.
The GSP-plus facility is facing suspension in August.
