The Trade Ministry is to conduct an investigation into Sathosa tenders due to many complaints by the public, Sathosa sources said yesterday. Sources alleged that there had been irregularities in awarding tenders. “It’s become obvious during the past few months,” the source said. According to him the tenders are called every week to replenish the stocks of the Sathosa outlets islandwide. The chairman of the Sathosa was not contactable since he was out of the country. The lists of essential goods that are tendered are dhal, potatoes, big onions, sprats, dry chillies and so on.
