Key Considerations for the Upcoming General Elections

In a letter addressed to the Election Commission of Sri Lanka yesterday (23), Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) raised several key considerations which must be taken into account ahead of the upcoming 2020 Parliamentary Elections scheduled for 20 June. TISL highlights the urgent need to amend circular 2020/03 to reflect the changed circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to prevent the misuse of public property, in light of essential relief work which must be carried out during this period.
