Hundreds of villagers from Aandaulpatha and Uraniya in Rideemaliyadda Pradesheeya Sabha (PS) area in Badulla district took part in two People’s Platforms (PP) facilitated by TISL to discuss the 4-year Development Plan. They were briefed by PS Chairman Karu Weeraratna and senior administrator Piyatissa Ranasinghe who formulated the Plan.
Lasantha de Silva of UVA Community Radio moderated the People’s Platforms to discuss issues related to the public in the area. Jagath Liyanarachi and Nauli Wimalarathna represented TISL.
The participants were entertained with dramas and children’s plays organised by the villagers themselves.
TISL facilitated the Development Plan which was drafted by the active participation of the community along with the PS members. They identified projects in the area that should be given priority for development and these were incorporated to the Development Plan.
