Galle district parliamentarian Chandima Weerakkody yesterday told ‘The Island’ that he requested the Southern Province Governor Kumari Balasuriya to hold an impartial inquiry into the rampant corruption and malpractices taking place in the Habaraduwa Multi Purpose Cooperative Society.
He told the Governor that since no proper audit had been conducted, the institution today had become a loss making establishment.
He said he was not satisfied with the investigations so far conducted by the Cooperative Commissioner.
