CEB recovers Rs. 8.2 mn. from errant consumers

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has recovered Rs. 8.2 million from those who pirated electricity in the Colombo-North area and Trincomalee.

The CEB conducted a raid on August 8, and identified 89 such incidents.

Issuing a press release, the CEB said yesterday that Rs. 900,000 was recovered in terms of court fines imposed on these errant electricity consumers in Colombo-North.

Besides, the CEB has also recovered its operational loss of Rs. 1.1 million from them.
