The Civil Defence Force (CDF) has been able to collect Rs.44.1 million by selling agricultural products, animal products and bricks during the last eight months.
The CDF had been operating farms in Katunayake, Kebithigollewa, Pollonnaruwa, Welioya, Vavuniya, Seruwila, Horowpathana, Mahaoya, Puttalam and Trincomalee.
According to the CDF the revenue will be used to buy tractors and other equipment used to cultivate land and to increase the quality of the products.
They also said that bricks worth around Rs.27.6 million and agricultural products worth Rs.35 million are stored by the CDF to be sold in the near future. These steps were taken under the directions of CDF Director General Ananda Peiries.
