Sunday Times in a detailed investigation has revealed that Cabinet approval and proper sanction has not been obtained by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) in what they called “disastrous oil hedging deals.”

OIC further remanded
A Police OIC has been further remanded for alleged soliciting and accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 5,000. The officer is attached to the Gampola SP’s office special investigations unit. He is alleged to have taken the bribe to release part payment made by an accused, to a complainant in a cheating case.

Follow up to Waters Edge

Tiran Alles indicted
When the fundamental rights case filed by Tiran Alles and Dushantha Basnayake was taken up, the Attorney General informed the Supreme Court that they have been indicted by the Police in the case regarding illegally funding the LTTE.
