Internship Opportunity – Advocacy and Research Team Transparency International Sri Lanka

About the Role

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) is seeking motivated and passionate individuals to join its Advocacy and Research Team as interns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in anti-corruption work while contributing to strengthening democratic governance in Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will:

  • Support research and advocacy initiatives related to anti-corruption efforts in Sri Lanka
  • Conduct desk research, including reviewing key frameworks such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption and other relevant instruments
  • Assist in data collection, management, analysis, and visualization for research outputs
  • Contribute to mainstreaming advocacy across TISL projects and thematic pillars
  • Support the documentation of national and global best practices in combating corruption
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating stakeholder engagements, including interviews with experts
  • Engage in activities that enhance networking and visibility in the anti-corruption and governance sector

This internship will enable you to:

  • Develop a strong understanding of anti-corruption mechanisms and governance frameworks
  • Gain exposure to advocacy strategies and research methodologies
  • Learn from real-world policy and governance initiatives at national and international levels
  • Build professional networks within the civil society and governance space

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants should:

  • Be an undergraduate or recent graduate in a relevant field such as:
    • Development Studies
    • Humanities
    • International Relations
    • Law
    • Sociology
  • Possess strong research skills, including the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data
  • Have experience or interest in desk-based research, especially policy and legal frameworks
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with experts and stakeholders
  • Be fluent in English (fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is an added advantage)

  • A monthly allowance will be provided
