Background

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) is a National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), the leading global movement against corruption. TISL raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it. Scope

The consultant will support to develop and implement a fundraising strategy, develop, enhance and sustain donor relationships, utilize funding opportunities, develop effective proposals, support donor and organizational reporting, maintain the donor database and provide input to keep up the programme quality and ensure donor compliance.

TISL is looking for dynamic and committed individual for the position of a Fundraiser.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality concept papers/proposals and other relevant documents as per funding requirements
  • Work closely with international donor agencies, foundations, local businesses and on some occasion’s local community groups.
  • Ensure that proposals are submitted in a timely manner and request for funding are followed up as required.
  • Research and identify potential partners and maintain an up to date partner database including summaries of the range of donors potentially interested in funding our work (donor mapping)
  • Provide guidance on and ensure compliance with donor rules, regulations and guidelines and raise issues affecting externa/ internal compliance.

To be successful as a Fundraising Consultant you will have:

  • Interest/passion for anti-corruption and bribery activities
  • Previous successful experience of fundraising and coordinating fundraising activities
  • High levels of communication and the ability to engage at all levels within an organization
  • The ability to cooperate effectively with both internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

The post holder will be based in Colombo, and is expected to work physically on a part time basis.
