Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL), the leading national civil society organization dedicated to promoting integrity and combatting corruption, is seeking a motivated Fact-finding and Investigative Research Officer for an immediate role.
This position is ideal for an individual with a legal/fact-finding and investigative research background who can hit the ground running to conduct investigative research on complaints of grand corruption and support our legal team during this assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate Research & Fact-Finding: Review, analyze, gather and connect, and record information on complex complaints of grand corruption received by TISL.
Legal Research: Conduct swift and rigorous legal research to assess cases under domestic anti-corruption laws and international frameworks.
Draft legal briefs and reports, formal complaints to regulatory bodies (such as CIABOC/HRC), official correspondence, and assist with ongoing public interest litigation matters.
Complainant Engagement: consult victims and witnesses of corruption, for accurate documentation with strict confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: A Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree, Attorney-at-Law qualification/reading, or a closely related legal background.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in legal and analytical work, investigative research, fact-finding, or related work.
Language Skills: Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Sinhala is essential. Proficiency in Tamil will be considered an added advantage.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
