Project objectives –
Strengthening Accountability Networks Among Civil Society: Regional coordination of Asia-Pacific countries and in-country action
1.To effectively mobilize CSOs and right holders to demand greater accountability and integrity through increased visibility, strategic advocacy and broad networks.
2.To support CSOs to meaningfully engage duty bearers in consultations, redress mechanisms, as well as in the monitoring and scrutiny of their responsiveness to the policy and budget cycles.
3. To support CSOs to advocate for strongly for enhanced parliamentary oversight, as well as stronger democratic accountability institutions and mechanisms, based on systematic monitoring and public reporting on their performance, using digital technologies.

Project objectives –
MCSCA’s goal is that journalists, media outlets, and civil society actors in Sri Lanka sustainably counter oppressive laws and other challenges so they can conduct fact-based reporting to better inform citizens and hold government and authorities accountable.
Objective 1: Sri Lankan media and civil society advocate for changes to and raise awareness on current legislation and policies that impede freedom of expression and the right to information.
Objective 2: Independent media work with civil society to inform citizens about economic, accountability and transparency issues that impact their community using the right to information law and other legal mechanisms.
Objective 3: Independent media and civil society collaboratively engage in communities to ensure the sustainability of citizen-led movements pressing for change.
Objective 4: Independent media and civil society actors develop resilient and sustainable coalitions.

Project Summaries –
This activity seeks to increase Transparency International Sri Lanka's (TISL) understanding of youth perspectives on the current reform and governance context to identify opportunities to engage them in meaningful civic activities. Despite the high level of youth participation in the People’s movement last year, there has since been a decline in youth civic engagement. The reason for this decline is multifaceted; however there has been no formal assessment of youth on the reasons for the decline. SL Engage will provide financial assistance to TISL to implement focus group discussions with 200 youth between the ages of 18 to 30 from 10 districts from the Western, Central and Southern Provinces. The provision of assistance through this grant will provide a basis on which civic engagement could be increased.

Project Objectives–
Improved knowledge and advocacy for essential anti-corruption reform in Sri Lanka
- Increased focus by Sri Lankan policy-makers on implementing an anti-corruption reform agenda
- Informed alliances and coalitions are fostered for improved accountability against corruption in Sri Lanka (including combatting the culture of impunity)
- The Sri Lankan public have increased access to information on anti-corruption reform for active participation in community-based political discourse and improved public accountability mechanisms.
