Internship – Multi-Media Designer

BACKGROUND:

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) is a National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), the leading global movement against corruption. TISL raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it. The role holder is responsible for the use of digital communications tools to enhance and expand the organization’s position and effectiveness as a leading advocacy organization on anti-corruption and governance issues.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

The Multimedia Designer Intern will support the organization’s communication and outreach activities by creating engaging visual and audio-visual content across multiple platforms. The role is designed to enhance the organization’s digital presence and contribute to campaigns, social media initiatives, and internal communication materials.

CORE-RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support video pre-production activities, including storyboarding, concept planning, and scripting assistance.
  • Operate DSLR, mirrorless, or professional video cameras confidently to capture high-quality footage.
  • Ensure strong visual composition through effective framing, camera angles, and shot selection.
  • Plan and execute appropriate lighting setups using both natural and artificial light sources to achieve desired visual effects.
  • Capture and manage clear audio recordings using microphones, sound recorders, and related equipment.
  • Edit and assemble recorded raw material into polished, engaging videos suitable for broadcasting across social and digital platforms.
  • Apply color correction and grading techniques to enhance the visual tone and consistency of video projects.
  • Add subtitles, motion graphics, transitions, and background music to improve overall video quality and storytelling impact
  • Collaborate closely with the communications and creative teams to deliver videos that align with organizational branding and campaign objectives.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in design and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent).
  • Basic knowledge of branding and visual communication principles.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a good sense of aesthetics.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
