Public Management Reforms Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake said that a clear change in the public administration structure in the country was needed to carry forward the Mahinda Chintanaya. “We should move away from the administration system of filling up forms,” he said.
Former prime minister Ratnasiri Wikremanayake was speaking at a meeting at the Horana Sri Lanka Freedom Party headquarters conference hall.
Speaking further, Mr. Wikremanayake said that the people of Horana electorate had got the premier’s office thrice. “I won’t say that the cycle has come to an end. During election time I said that to reap the benefit of Mahinda Chinthanaya a change was needed in the structure of the administration,” he said.
“The form filling system should be changed. Now that responsibility has fallen on the Horana masses, the responsibility of framing a suitable structure of administration is ours. The people’s victory rests on it,” he said. He added that the people of Horana never went after positions but that positions came to them. On 17th November a new Cabinet will be appointed he said. He did not know how far expectations of the people would be fulfilled; only the astrologers could say, he said. The Horana voters did not get defeated or suffer a setback, he added.
Chief incumbent of Horana Rajamaha Viharaya and Chief Prelate of Raigam Salpiti Hemagam Korale Rev Horana Pragnasekera, and Chief incumbent of Batuwita Sri Sudarsanaramaya, Rev. Padukka Pragnawansa also addressed the gathering.
