Janithrika joined TISL in 2018 as the Programme Assistant of Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (ALAC), and later she worked attached to the “Programme for Protection of Public Property and Resources” as a Program Officer. In 2020, Janithrika was the National Coordinator of Integrity Icon Program, organized by TISL. In 2021, Janithrika was promoted as the Manager- Advocacy and Research of TISL.
Janithrika has several years of experience working on Community Development Projects in the Social Service Sector. She has been volunteering for the “International Movement for Community Development” since 2015, holding the position of Programme Manager of the “Colour A Dream” programme which aimed at providing quality and equal educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Sri Lanka.
Janithrika holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colombo majoring in English and Literature, minoring in International Relations, and was honoured with the Dean’s Award for the best performance in Literary Criticism and Poetry for two consecutive years at the University Level. She is a past pupil of Goethe Institute, Colombo. She is passionate about the fields of Peace-building, Anti-Corruption and Good Governance. Her personal areas of interest include Literature, Arts based strategies in transforming societies and Poetry.
