Golden Rules for CSOs

A set of ‘Golden Rules’ developed by TISL which proposes a framework for more accountable and transparent governance structure for the Non Profit sector in Sri Lanka was presented to a representative gathering of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) recently at a forum held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. Representatives from 21 CSOs participated.

TISL was commended for taking the initiative in developing the set of guidelines and a fruitful discussion followed. The need to build waste and corrupt free governance with in their CSOs, NGOs and INGOs was stressed   by the participants.

The guidelines cover several subjects including Good Governance, Legitimacy, Transparency, Accountability, Integrity, Monitoring, Sustainability and Human Resources.

The draft document is attached (Please refer English |  Sinhala |  Tamil ) and comments are most welcome.
