ඉතාමත් තීරණාත්මක මැතිවරණයකදී දූෂණයට ඉඩක් ලබා නොදෙමින් මැතිවරණයේ සුපිළිපන් බව ආරක‍ෂා කිරීමට සිදු කළ කැපවීම හා ලබාදුන් නායකත්වය ඉතා අගය කරන බව ට්‍රාන්ස්පේරන්සි ඉන්ටනැෂනල් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනය මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස් මහින්ද දේශප්‍රිය මහතා වෙත ලිපියක් යවමින් ස්තුතිය පළ කරමින් සිටී.
මැතිවරණයේ සුපිළිපන් බව බිදලීමට හා එහි වටිනාකම් විනාශ කිරීමට ගෙන ගිය වැඩපිළිවෙළ හමුවේ නොසැළී සිටිමින් සිදුකළ මෙහෙවර පිළිබදව උදක්ම සතුටු වන බවද එහි සදහන් වේ.
මෙවර මැතිවරණයේදී සිදුවූ විවිධ අකටයුතුකම් පිළිබදව හොදින්ම අත්දැකීම් ලබාගත හැකි හා ඒවා අවම කිරීමට ගතහැකි පියවර යෝජනා කිරීමට සුදුසුම පුද්ගලයා ඔබ බව අපගේ විශ්වාසයයි. ඊට ශක්තියක් වීමට යහපාලනය වෙනුවෙන් කැපවුණු ට්‍රාන්ස්පේරන්සි ඉන්ටනැෂනල් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනය ලෙස අප සූදානමින් යැයිද එහි සදහන්ය.

A staggering loss of Rs. 140 million incurred by the SLTB due to the Presidential Election
Why should it be treated as a loss? Action must be taken by the Board of Management to recover the total amount due from the person concerned.
In addition action has to be taken against the person for MISUSE or ABUSE of power.
This abuse of power is one strong concrete example as to why a person should be prevented by law from contesting any election while he holds a post in the Government. There must be a law to make it compulsory that any person who intends to contests any election must first relinquish all posts held by him in the public or private sector before he becomes eligible to hand-over his nomination papers for tat election.
