Trade Union Leaders Trained on Anti- Corruption Activism

TISL conducted a two day training workshop for trade union activist on how they should act against corruption at Tangerine Hotel recently.

Thirty trade union activist representing Education, Health and transport sector participated at this workshop.

They were trained types of corruption, corruption prevention mechanisms ,role of the whistle blowers in mitigating corruption and the role can play by a union leader in prevention of corruption at the workshop.

Asoka Pieris a senior SLAS officer who was the former secretary to the   ministry of land and senior internal auditor B A W Abewardene were the external resource personnel at this workshop. Senior managers of the TISL Shan Wijethunge and Shantha Kulathunga along with attorney at law Jagath Liyanarachchi and Ananda Jayasekara  facilitated and conducted the other session of the workshop.
