PPPR records 400 election malpractices

election2010The Programme for Protection of Public Resources (PPPR),  have recorded over 400 complaints of instances where public resources have been used for election propaganda purposes.

These incidents which had taken place between December 17 to January 26, would be investigated by the organization, and the legitimate cases would be pointed out in the final PPPR report, to be released soon.

The final report would collate the four preliminary reports on election related complaints and would highlight the use of public resources on election day.

The spokesperson for the Transparency International, Rukshana Nanayakkara speaking to Daily Mirror said though they had got responses for the first report from some of the government organizations that had been mentioned, there was no such responses from the other three reports.
