Anjana joined TISL in 2019 as Legal Officer of the Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (ALAC). One of her main tasks is to provide legal advice to victims and witnesses of corruption and to any citizen that seeks legal advice from TISL. She also conducts mobile legal clinics and other outreach programmes to raise awareness on corruption and address corruption related issues.
Anjana previously worked in the Law Chambers of Marini De Livera, Tiruchelvam Associates and in the private chambers of Mr. Anuruddha Perera, Attorney-At-Law, where she was exposed to legal research, legal documentation, Company registration, NGO registration, litigation, immigration issues, labour law, white-collar crimes and general civil work. She has also conducted legal training programmes for law students while working in Ms. De Livera’s chambers.
Anjana holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom, and is a past pupil of Methodist College, Colombo 03.
Her personal areas of interest include Private International Law, International Migration, Women empowerment and awareness raising. She also teaches Buddhism in Dhamma School during her spare time.
