‘Voice against Corruption’ alleges top cop building Rs. 30 mn house

‘Voice against Corruption’ spearheading anti-corruption drive alleged yesterday that a senior police official based in Colombo was in the process of building a luxury house at Ampitiya, Kandy.

Sources said that the top police officer in charge of a division in the Colombo range had deployed police personnel to build the house estimated to cost about Rs. 30 mn. The JVP recently launched ‘Voice against Corruption’ with former Chief Justice Sarath Nanda Silva addressing a gathering in Colombo, where he urged the public to target the government over rampant corruption.

Responding to a query, sources said that a group of police personnel had briefed ‘Voice against Corruption’ on the policeman’s ongoing house building project.
